FDC International Wins Three Awards at AREA Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards

FDC International participated for the first time in the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA), organized by Enterprise Asia and regarded as Asia’s highest ESG honor. The company was honored with three prestigious awards: the Green Leadership Award, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and the Sustainability Reporting Award. FDC International’s dedication to sustainability, carbon reduction, environmental protection, and local revitalization earned international recognition, making it the first hotel brand in Taiwan to receive this distinguished accolade.

The AREA awards are held annually across major Asian cities to recognize enterprises and organizations committed to sustainable development. This year’s ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with over 300 projects submitted from 19 countries. Evaluation criteria include six core areas: environment, fair practices, health, leadership, community, and people. Ultimately, 81 companies were selected for their outstanding sustainability efforts.

FDC International’s continuous recognition in domestic and international sustainability and ESG awards reflects the hard work of every employee. Initiatives such as encouraging carpooling among staff and reducing carbon footprint by using reusable cups have been internalized. Additionally, the company is planning to implement an internal carbon pricing strategy, develop more sustainable methods for food waste management, and starting this year, increase water and electricity charges to encourage awareness of resource consumption costs within hotel operations, fostering proactive energy conservation and carbon reduction.
