FDC International Achieves Best-Ever Results at the 2024 Commonwealth Sustainability Citizenship Awards

The annual Commonwealth Sustainability Citizenship Awards have been announced, providing a comprehensive ESG report card amid growing corporate commitments. This award highlights the strengths and challenges Taiwan enterprises face on their sustainable development journey.

With global corporations increasingly emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), FDC International actively fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture. The company promotes an organizational culture heritage program that advocates innovation and the arts as core values, while embodying the principles of sustainable tourism. Notably, Fleur de Chine Hotel at Sun Moon Lake pioneered a three-day weekend policy, enabling employees to work more efficiently and creatively, which in turn enhances guest service and satisfaction.

FDC International also engages with consumers through initiatives such as net negative carbon stays and tree-planting programs to offset the carbon footprint of every guest stay, contributing to environmental protection. Meanwhile, the company has implemented carbon fees and doubled utility charges across its parent and subsidiary hotels, encouraging all employees to actively practice energy conservation and water resource stewardship.

In the 2024 Commonwealth Sustainability Citizenship Awards, FDC earned 2nd place in the “Small Giant” category — its best performance to date. This recognition is the highest encouragement from the judging panel for FDC’s sustained efforts. The company received strong marks for corporate governance and social engagement, and will continue fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to bring positive impact to Taiwan.
